Lisa Garner, MD
A strong supporter of the Garland community, Dr. Lisa Garner considers it a privilege to care for patients, healing skin disorders, skin cancers and more.
Dr. Lisa Garner is a Garland, Texas native. She received her Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in Pharmacy from The University of Houston and her Doctor of Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Garner completed an internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Dermatology at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School where she remains on staff today as a Clinical Professor of Dermatology.
During her residency, she completed rotations at Parkland Hospital, Dallas Veterans Administration Hospital, and Children’s Medical Center where she served a Chief Resident in Dermatology her final year. Dr. Garner is certified by the American Board of Dermatology (ABMS) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
Considering it a privilege to practice medicine and dermatology, Dr. Garner is active with many professional dermatology societies, most recently receiving honors as “2017 Practitioner of the Year” by The Dermatology Foundation, where she remains active since 1998. Dr. Garner was also elected to the Board of Directors for the American Academy of Dermatology, serving as vice president in 2013-2014, and remains active on various committees and task forces, including the Academy’s Advisory Board. In 2010, Dr. Garner served as president of the Women’s Dermatologic Society and held multiple leadership positions in the Texas Dermatological Society, serving as president in 2004- 2005, and in the Dallas Dermatologic Society, serving as President in 1994.
