Kent Aftergut, MD
A specialist in infectious diseases, psoriasis, eczema, rashes, and skin cancer, Dr. Kent Aftergut is one of Dallas’s most sought-after dermatologist for common, rare, and hard-to-treat skin conditions.
A board-certified dermatologist and native Texan, Dr. Kent Aftergut owns and operates Dermatology Consultants of North Dallas and Dermatology Associates of Uptown in Cedar Hill. He served as a Clinical Instructor of Dermatology for nine years at The University of Texas Southwestern Department of Dermatology teaching residents at Parkland Hospital, and served as president and vice president of the Dallas Dermatologic Society. Since 2011, Dr. Aftergut has been routinely named by his peers in D Magazine as one of the “Best Doctors in Dallas,” as well as Texas Monthly’s “Super Doctors.” He is the 2017 and 2018 Honorary Chair of the Psoriasis Foundation’s Team NPF Cycle in North Texas event and has been featured on CNN, the New York Times, Associated Press and Dallas Morning News, as a dermatology expert.
Dr. Aftergut graduated magna cum laude from The University of Texas-Austin. He attended UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas where graduated with honors and membership in Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas prior to completing his residency in Dermatology at UT Southwestern Department of Dermatology. Dr. Aftergut currently serves as a member of the Platinum Dermatology Partners all-physician Clinical Advisory Board in Texas.
His professional interests include infectious diseases, psoriasis, eczema and rashes, skin cancer screenings, detection and treatment, and surgical and cosmetic dermatology. In his personal time, he enjoys live sporting events and time with wife and children.
