Our Commitment to Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. We provide this notice to give you an understanding of our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personal, identifiable information may be requested on our website.

The Personal Information We Collect:

This notice applies to all personal information about you or another person whose care you are managing (such as a spouse, child or recipient of purchased products) that is collected or submitted on our website (“Personal information”). Personal Information is collected on some webpages when you order products, make requests, schedule appointments, and register to receive materials. The types of Personal Information collected on our webpages are:

Email address
Phone number
Credit/Debit Card Information

The Way We Use Information:

We use the information you provide about yourself, or another person whose care you are managing, to complete transactions with you, provide treatment, process payment, and otherwise provide products and services that you request or use otherwise for our healthcare operations.

We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive and share educational and product information. Such addresses may also be used for other purpose such as communicating directly with you and marketing our products and services.

As further described below, we use certain non-personally identifying and aggregate information to better design our website and to share with advertisers. For example, we may tell an advertiser that X number of individuals visited a certain area on our website, but we would not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals.

Disclosure of Personal Information to Others:

We do not share Personal Information with outside parties unless specifically agreed to by you or:

  • Our Third-Party Vendors and Suppliers.  We employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf to fulfill orders, deliver packages, provide marketing assistance, process credit card payments, and provide other services in the course of providing services to you. These third parties may have access to Personal Information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for other purposes.

  • Legal Compliance and Protection: We may release Personal Information where release is required to comply with our obligations under the law (for example, a subpoena), or regulation, or in connection with any legal process or governmental requests. We may release Personal Information to enforce or apply our Terms of Use and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of Platinum Dermatology Partners, its affiliates, employees, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection, as well as providing information to law enforcement and governmental authorities.

  • Corporate Transactions: In the event of a reorganization, merger or sale of Platinum Dermatology Partners or any of its affiliates, we may transfer any and all Personal Information we have collected to the relevant third party.

Finally, we do not intend to use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses. We never sell or rent your personal information.

Our Commitment to Data Security:

We have put in place physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption when collecting or transferring sensitive information such as credit card information. SSL encryption is designed to make the information unreadable by anyone but us. This security measure is working when you see the symbol of either an unbroken key or a closed lock (depending on your browser) at the bottom of your browser window. Please be advised, however, that while we endeavored to create secure and reliable website services for visitors, the confidentiality of any communication or material transmitted to/from us via the Internet or via e-mail cannot be guaranteed.

Our Commitment to Children’s Privacy:

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under age 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under age 13.  If notified that a child under 13 has provided us with Personal Information, we will delete this information from our databases.

Links to Third-Party Websites:

Our website may provide links to third-party websites for your convenience and information. If you access those links, you will leave our website. We do not control those sites or their privacy practices, which may differ from our practices. We do not endorse or make any representations about third-party websites. The personal data you choose to provide to, or that is, collected by these third parties is not covered by our Privacy Notice. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any company before submitting your personal information.

Non-Personal Information Collection:

Our Websites do not track, collect, or distribute personal information unless voluntarily submitted by our visitors. Our site logs do generate certain kinds of non-identifying information, such as website usage data, the number of webpage hits, IP addresses and visits to our sites, collected through the use of cookies and web beacons. This information is used for internal purposes by technical support staff to provide better services to the public and may also be provided to others, but again, the statistics contain no personal information and cannot be used to gather such information.

A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a Web server and stored on your computer's hard drive. We use non-identifying cookies to provide easier site navigation and access to forms. You can still use our sites if your browser is set to reject cookies. Our cookies do not generate personal data, do not read personal data from your machine, and are never tied to anything that could be used to identify you.

Your Choices Regarding Personal Information:

  • Accessing and Correcting Personal information. You can correct factual errors in your Personal information by sending us a request that credibly shows error, by emailing or calling us, using the information provided below. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.

  • Commercial Electronic Communications: If you do not wish to receive promotional emails from us, you can opt out of future promotional mailings by clicking on the unsubscribe link located on the bottom of the relevant promotional email.

How Our Website Responds to “Do Not Track” Signals:

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track (DNT) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected by websites. Our webpages are not currently set up to respond to DNT browser signals or mechanisms.

Your Rights Under California Law:

If you are a California resident under 18 years old and have an online account with us or have linked to us through social media, you can request that we remove content or information that you have posted to our website or other online services. Note that fulfilment of the request may not ensure complete or comprehensive removal (e.g., if the content or information has been reposted by another user). To request removal of content or information, please email or call us using the contact information below.

If you are a California resident, you have a right to request from companies conducting business in California a list of all third parties to which the company has disclosed Personal Information, as defined under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, during the preceding year for third party direct marketing purposes. We will respond to one request per California resident per calendar year, according to California Civil Code Section 1798.83.  You may request this information in writing by contacting us using the contact information below. In your request, please attest to the fact that you are a California resident and provide a current California address for your response. Please allow up to thirty (30) days for a response.
